Childbirth Education Courses /Parenting educators
Childbirth/parent Education courses are provided in a number of locations across the NRAHS region. Becoming a Parent is a time of great joy, but is also a time of huge changes both physically and emotionally. Aboriginal Ante-natal Outreach Program
This program offers ante-natal and post natal care and education for pregnant Aboriginal women, including coordination of, and assistance in, attending appointments with other service providers.

Aboriginal Parenting Officer
The Aboriginal Parenting Officer supports pre and post natal Aboriginal women and babies, and children up to 5 years. Links women to mainstream services, transports to early intervention, provides liaison with children’s ward, organises antenatal visits, works in collaboration to provide home immunization and Koori baby days.

Mothers Using Methadone and/or other Substances (MUMS)
The program aims to engage women whose use of drugs or alcohol would be likely to adversely affect their babies. Services include antenatal and postnatal care for mothers and babies, including pediatric review, women’s health review and drug and alcohol counselling.There is no cost to the client. This service is staffed by a multidisciplinary team involving medical specialist consultants, community health and hospital services

Women’s Referral and Access Program (WRAP)
WRAP is an integrated care trial for drug (illicit) dependent women and their families. It targets women in methadone treatment, pregnant women and/or women with young children, women in Nimbin, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. Through a case management model, it involves the assessment, referral and linkage of women to a range of services that may include health, housing, employment, education, legal advice, child care, child protection, living skills, parenting skills, and financial advice. There is no cost to the client.
