Contraception Information

You can go to the services below to see a nurse or doctor to talk about contraception, anything you might be concerned about, what you need, different options for contraception and what contraception would suit you best, or if you just want information to take away and think about. There is no cost.

Some of these services have female doctors as well as a women's health nurse. If you want a prescription for contraception, you'll need to see one of the doctors. You can see a doctor at:

Lismore Family Planning clinics ,
Kyogle Family Planning clinics and drop-in clinics,
Grafton Women's Health Clinics.

Lismore Family Planning Service (including Kyogle)

Lismore Family Planning runs sexual and reproductive health clinics at Lismore 3 days a week
Monday from 9am - 5pm ,
Thursday from 2pm - 6 pm and
Saturday mornings from 9am - 12:30 pm.
You can see a female GP or a nurse. There is no charge.

They also run an outreach clinic at Kyogle once a fortnight and a drop-in clinic for young people once a month. There is no charge.

Grafton Women’s Health Clinic

This sexual and reproductive health clinic is on every Thursday.
There is a female female doctor and a Women’s Health Nurse. There is no charge.

Lismore and District Women’s Health Centre

The Women's Health Nurse at the Lismore and District Women's Health Centre provides sexual and reproductive health clinics. There is no charge for the clinical service.
The Centre also has counselling, acupuncture, massage, naturopathy, WRAP and eating disorders programs.

Women's Health Nurses

Women's Health Nurses provide clinics for women in many locations across our area. The clinical, educational and counselling services are provided at no cost to the client.

The Womens Health Nurse can help clients with information about contraception as well as a range of other services such as checks for Sexually Transmitted Infections, pregnancy testing and advice, post termination checks, Diaphragm fitting, Relationship and lifestyle issues, Pap Tests, Breast Checks, and referral to other health services if you need it.
