Making Messages

'Making Messages' is a creative program that works along side women from Mid North Coast Aboriginal Communities to develop their own health promotional resources for their own communities. The program provides a safe environment in which delicate, sensitive and often shameful health issues such as family violence, sexual assault, breast cancer and cervical cancer can be discussed openly by women.

Once the women identify the major issues that are impacting on their communities, they go on to develop wall hangings on these issues for their communities. These Wall hangings are then turned into posters, stickers and brochures with the women developing the health message that accompanies the resource.
