Public Health Act 1991
The Public Health Act 1991 and its regulations outline legal issues relating to the sale of tobacco to people under the age of 18. The act also legislates against buying tobacco on behalf of someone under the age of 18.
The Public Health Act 1991 also addresses issues relating to tobacco advertising and promotion.
Smoke Free Environment Act 2000
The Smoke Free Environment Act 2000 makes it illegal to smoke in any enclosed public space. This includes workplaces with public access, schools, public transport, shopping centres, childcare centres, hospitals and more recently pubs and clubs.
