R..E.D. INC. - young adolescents with disabilties
- R.E.D. Inc. fosters attitudes which enable young adolescents with disabilities to make the transition from school to community participation and adulthood in a self-empowered way. They are a community-based organisation and they administer the Adult Training, Learning and Support (Post School Options/ATLAS) program funded by the Commonwealth Department of Aging, Disability and Home Care.

HISTORY
R.E.D. Inc. was established in 1991 as a grass roots parent group. We became an incorporated body in 1993.
AIMS OF THE SERVICE
- To support, encourage and facilitate young people with disabilities to achieve their goals, realize their dreams and maximize their potential.
- To see young people with a disability viewed as valued and respected members of the community, experiencing a fulfilling range of life opportunities and choices.
R.E.D. Inc. has a range of interesting and innovative programmes, and we are developing new programmes continuously. We meet with the client, their family, teachers and other important people in the client’s life.Together we make a flexible programme suited for the individual. The following are some of the types of activities we can include in a programme:
- Learning more of the sorts of things the client was doing in school
- Courses at TAFE or ACE
- Gym, swimming, bowling, dancing, yoga, art, pottery, singing, guitar, golf
- Cooking, budgeting, computer
- Learning about oneself
