**NEW** Workplan for Mental Health Participation 2008-2010
Provides a forum for the community to participate in and provide advice on mental health service planning, development and evaluation.
Objectives
- Maintain, support and strengthen linkages with existing mental health structures
- Develop a database of community members willing to get involved in mental health issues
- Distribute information relating to mental health to the wider community
- Provide input on the effectiveness of mental health services
- Provide an informed community perspective on the needs of people with a mental illness
- Provide advice on the appropriateness and effectiveness of NCAHS policies, protocols and planning strategies
Membership
- Any resident is able to register to receive information on activities of the Mental Health Forum
- Membership includes:
- five carers
- five consumers
- three Aboriginal representatives
- five community/non-government agency representatives
