Bellingen Reference Group

Hospital and Community Health Reference Group have their first meeting

The Bellinger River District Hospital and Community Health Reference Group met for the first time on the 25 November, 2008. The initiative was one of the agreed strategies from the town meeting on the 10 August, 2008. 
The group provides representation across the Community, the hospital and the North Coast Area Health Service.

Terms of Reference for the group have been agreed with their role being - “To provide a reference group where matters relating to broader community participation into local service planning and provision of services may be considered, discussed and debated for the purpose of providing advice to the Executive Officer, Bellinger River District Hospital, Network Coordinator, Coffs Clarence Network and the Coffs Clarence Network Health Participation Forum”.

The community representatives include Ms Barbara Moore and Ms Kaye Foran, with Dr Deirdre Little, the representative from the Hospital’s Medical Staff Council and Councilor Kerry Child representing Bellingen Council. 

  

After the meeting the group planted some native trees at the Hospital as a sign of partnership across the community and health.
