Finding Out About Medications Taken During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Mothersafe is a FREE service for the women of NSW Australia, based at the Royal Hospital for Women, Randwick Sydney.This service can assist you tio make decisions about what goes into your body while you are pregnant, remembering that everything that you take in affects your baby when pregnant and during breastfeeding.

The Mothersafe service provides comprehensive counselling for women and their healthcare providers concerned about exposures during pregnancy and lactation including:

  • Prescription drugs
  • Over-the-counter medications
  • Street drugs
  • Infections
  • Radiation
  • Occupational health exposure
