What Services Do We Provide?
Palliative Care supports the whole family and assists patients to be cared for in the setting of their choice. Palliative care provides
- Advice on pain and symptom control
- Medical, nursing and other professional health care such as physiotherapy. (No physiotherapy service is avalaible at Macksville)
- Equipment loans to facilitate care
- Volunteers who provide a range of services to patients, carers and families
- Counselling for patients and families
- Pastoral Care
- Support groups for patients, carers and families
- Liaison with other service providers to ensure coordinated ongoing care
- Bereavement support
- 24 hour telephone support for registered Palliative Care patients in some parts of the North Coast, (at present this service is only available in the Northern Rivers area).
The service can also facilitate temporary respite care to give carers time out.
