Your baby's teeth and Bottles, Thumbsucking and Breastfeeding

  • Never put sugar in your baby's bottle, breast milk is always best.
  • Even fruit juices in your baby's bottle can rot infant’s teeth - especially if your child falls asleep sucking on the bottle.
  • Help teach your baby to drink from a cup, at around eight months old. Why?  Decay-producing sugars are in contact with the teeth for less time.
  • Never suck a baby’s dummy to clean it – you increase the child’s risk of dental decay.
  • If you’re a nursing mother, smoking can lead to serious health problems not only for you,
    but also for your baby.
