Elderly Person’s Teeth
With people not only living longer, but also retaining their natural teeth (fillings and all), the risk of dental disease increases.
All the basic rules for good oral hygiene apply no matter how old you are. Today, unfortunately, dementia is on the increase and for the elderly this can present special oral health problems.
In nursing homes, older person's teeth should receive priority and currently the Area Health Service is developing procedures to assist in this area.
