Sporting opportunities are outstanding and in this beautiful climate you can play sports all year round. This is a child centred community and there are many sporting activities available at low cost from beginners to elite athlete programs at the university. 

Community events on most weekends provide activities for children, from clowns and camel rides at village markets to sand sculpture on the beach, and guided educational tours in national parks.

Schools - The New South Wales Department of Education offers free schooling to all children aged 4.5 to 18 years of age.

Community Schools- there are a number of community run schools in the area including the Vistara Community School at Richmond Hill, and the Rainbow Ridge Steiner school at Lillian Rock

There are private secondaryschools such as Trinity College in Lismore, and these are complimented by excellent free Government High Schools, such as Kadina High School.

There is also a Conservatorium of Theatre, Music and Dance, Southern Cross University, and a TAFE  (Technical College) in Lsimore.

Lismore is regional centre and has a large retail shopping precinct, and offers a wide range of choices from large supermarkets to organic markets for wonderfully fresh and healthy produce.
