About the facility | Port Macquarie Base Hospital is a 168 bed general hospital. The hospital provides a range of services including medical, surgical, coronary and intensive care, emergency department, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, oncology and radiotherapy, palliative care, rehabilitation, operating theatres and mental health. |

Where to from here - career opportunities, speciality programs, employment opportunities | Currently all of the graduates who choose to stay are employed within the hospital on completion of the program, a large proportion of these are employed on a permanent contract. Some graduates choose to retain casual status. In addition Port Macquarie Base Hospital is developing second year programs in the following specialties – critical care, renal nursing, oncology/palliative care and mental health nursing. |
Accommodation | There is no accommodation on site but there are private rentals within Port Macquarie and nurses may be willing to share. |

Staff at the hospital plan regular activities for their specific units. Each year there is either a General Hospital Revue or Ball. The graduates on the program often have a social event following their study day. |
