Colouring my Life is a post-natal distress (depression) support and self awareness group for women.
Colouring my life is a program run by staff from the Port Macquarie Health Campus’ Child and Family team. Each session is delivered in a supportive environment that promotes group discussion around post-natal depression and ways of managing your depression in a practical way.
The program runs for seven weeks and is held twice per year in the second and third school terms.
The sessions run for two hours every week from 10.30am to 12.30pm. The program also includes an evening session for partners, which usually occurs on the third week of the program commencing at 5.30pm – 7.00pm. The program is free and morning tea is provided at no cost.
The sessions involve some group and individual activities with a take home activity each week. The groups are relaxed and there is plenty of time to share experiences and information.
Child minding is also available on site, with prior arrangement. When booking into the program please let the coordinator know if you need childminding.
The Program promotes positive self growth in a supportive environment.
The next program is scheduled to start on Friday the 23 October and concluding on Friday 4 December 2009.
The program is conducted at the Port Macquarie Community Health Centre (Old hospital).
