Mental Health Non Government Organisations
The North Coast Area Health Service (NCAHS) provides funding to many Non-Government Oganisations (NGOs) across the Area. These organisations provide accommodation support services and some NGOs also operate centre-based rehabilitation/living skill programs. The support and rehabilitation programs provided vary among the organisations from providing only disability support, to the provision of a structured mental health rehabilitation programs. This organisation operates a "Home Away from Home” service offering foster care to young people with mental health issues. Based in Lismore, this program provides temporary respite accommodation to young people referred by Youth and Family Mental Health Workers . The respite is provided in the carers homes.

The Lismore Women’s Health Centre Inc receives recurrent funding to provide a part-time community based Eating Disorders Service for women and girls. It offers the services of a multi-disciplinary team including a GP, dietician and counsellor with access to inpatient services, paediatricians, psychiatrists and mental health teams.

Carers NSW - North Coast Area Health Service's partner in the Family & Carer Mental Health Program is Carers NSW. Carers NSW provides family and carer support, advocacy, education and training. They also provide peer support to mental health carer groups. There are four offices across the NCAHS:
