Coffs Harbour has a Marine National Park right on its doorstep, and life can revolve around the ocean with scuba diving, snorkelling and whale watching all popular pastimes. Coffs Harbour has several good diving spots particularly at the Solitary Islands where there are a variety of unusual fish species. White-water rafting is a speciality on the beautiful Nymboida and Goolang Rivers  For natural beauty you don't even have to travel to the many verdant national parks in the hinterland, you can walk from the city centre along the Coffs Creek Walk and experience the cool shady path that leads to the famous Botanical Gradens.

Sherwood State Forest is a short drive from Coffs HarbourThere are numerous Aboriginal Sites in the Coffs Harbour area which can be visited.

The city of Coffs Harbour is surrounded by lively rural villages overflowing with creative artists and musicians which means that the cultural life in the region is very rich. Every October, Bellingen hosts a World Music festival and at any time it is a great place to visit.

Many people live in Bellingen and work in Coffs Harbour - if you visit you will understand why. The town sits in a stunningly lovely valley on the banks of the beautiful Bellinger River. Not far out of town, ten minutes north you can visit an area known as the Promised Land where you can swim in the Never Never River. Platypuses are common in the river and at dusk you will see and hear flying foxes in the rainforest on Bellingen Island.
