Director Mental Health Services

Richard Buss

Richard is the Director of Mental Health Services, North Coast Area Health Service. He is a Psychologist with a history of working with both adolescents and adults. Being in a mental health service management role for the past 13 years he has considerable experience with service delivery in rural areas. He has a conjoint appointment with the University of Newcastle and is a member of the executive management committee of the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health.

The Area office of Mental Health Services is at 60 Hunter Street, Lismore. Under the leadership of the Director Mental Health, a range of state and area wide initiatives are developed, implemented, coordinated and evaluated. The Area office provides operational support in a range of strategic initiatives to the four Mental Health Service networks. Mental Health is a 'clinical stream' in regard to NCAHS services. All of the Area Mental Health team are responsible to the Director as are the four Mental Health Integrated Care Managers of the Mental Heath Service networks.
