Mental Health Professionals Required on the North Coast of New South Wales

North Coast Mental Health Services are continuing to expand and current services will be enhanced to provide innovative and progressive service models.

"The expansion of services is occurring in both Inpatient and Community mental health care. Opportunities exist for well motivated mental health professionals to join the mental health teams across the whole area."

Inpatient mental health services have been expanded in Lismore and Port Macquarie. A new 20 bed Intensive Rehabilitation Unit will open in Coffs Harbour early in 2009. Opportunities for Medical, Nursing and Allied Health staff will be available in the acute and specialist inpatient facilities. A specialist Child and Adolescent Unit has also been built in Lismore.

Within the community setting there is an expansion of services to all age ranges. There are specialist programs for Older Persons, Young Persons mental health and Rehabilitation Services. There are opportunities for professionals to become part of these exciting and innovative services.

As a rural health service the North Coast Area Health Service mental health service is innovative in the approaches to both the needs of its employees and the way in which services are delivered. These current service expansions offer you a chance to become part of a vibrant and expanding team, coupled with a beautiful natural environment within easy reach of larger metropolitan centres.
