North Coast Mental Health Services are continuing to expand and current services will be enhanced to provide innovative and progressive service models. "Opportunities exist for well motivated mental health professionals to join the mental health teams across the whole area." Inpatient mental health services are located in Tweed Heads, Lismore, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie. Specialist services such as a 20 bed Intensive Rehabilitation Unit is located in Coffs Harbour and a Child and Adolescent Unit in Lismore. Opportunities for Medical, Nursing and Allied Health staff are available in these acute and specialist inpatient facilities. Within the community setting there is an expansion of services to all age ranges. There are specialist mental health programs for Older Persons, Young Persons and Rehabilitation Services. There are opportunities for professionals to become part of these exciting and innovative services. As a rural health service the North Coast Area Health Service mental health service is innovative in the approaches to both the needs of its employees and the way in which services are delivered.
