Programs and courses which are available
Fathering groups
BUILD fathering groups help dads and dads-to-be gain parenting skills, and build closer more nurturing relationships with their children. The stereotypical male role of absent parenting is challenged. The group's aim is to increase a dad's self-awareness and self esteem as he negotiates the difficult issues of conflict resolution and discipline in the family.
Self Esteem and Communication groups
These 12 week groups assist participants to develop a new sense of personal power and value by challenging the judgemental voice of the 'inner critic'. Old patterns are revealed and habitual, negative self-statements are exposed and analysed. Instead of undermining the self, the participants learn to build on a stronger foundation of personal resources.
Groups for men who have been sexually abused
These groups offer a confidential and supportive environment in which men can talk about, and begin to heal the experience of isolation, confusion, and self blame which often accompanies the physical trauma of having been sexually abused
For men concerned about their abusive behaviour
The MEND program deals with these issues, use this link to read more about MEND
Support groups for women
WEND groups are for partners of men attending the MEND groups and for any woman who has experienced abusive or violent realtionships. The group offers support and encouragement to participants in their striving for safe, happy and fulfilling, family lives.
