Extract from the Chief Executive’s Year in Review
Consistent with the North Coast’s population growth and the Area’s significantly ageing demographic, there has been continuing service expansion over the past year. As the data in this Annual Report indicates, North Coast Area Health Service (NCAHS) treated more Hospital patients and more Community Health clients than ever before. There are certainly no signs that these healthcare demands will lessen in the future, at least in the short term, despite an increasing emphasis on measures aimed at encouraging people to adopt healthier lifestyles.
The 2006-07 year was the second in the life of the amalgamated NCAHS and the efficiencies resulting from the merging of the two former Area Health Services enabled further administrative savings ...
