LBH Volunteer Program

Volunteering is a wonderful way to contribute to your local community, learn new skills, meet new friends and have fun! At Lismore Base Hospital we have many areas that would love to have a volunteer or two to make the difference for staff and patients.

What do I have to do to become a Volunteer?

To become a volunteer at Lismore Base Hospital it is expected that you have met with our personnel requirements and have attended our Training Day. Lismore Base Hospital offers a 4-hour training session leading to formal recognition.

The LBH Volunteer Committee are the hub of the Volunteer Program. In the last year, the LBH Volunteer Committee has developed a Volunteer Induction Program. This includes an Information Day, an Interview, a Training Day and ongoing support.

Volunteer Committte Membership includes:

Jenny Ryan – Volunteer Co-ordinator, Red Cross Cosmetic Care

Margaret Oldham – Treasurer, Patient Support Services

To co-ordinate a quality volunteer service within Lismore Base Hospital and Northern Rivers Area Health Service

Our Mission

  •  To develop a recruitment package that provides orientation, supervision, support and recognition of the volunteer
  •  To provide appropriate placement of volunteers within the organization, being sensitive to the needs of the volunteer, patient and health service staff
  •  To provide formal recognition of volunteer training

Who are some of the Volunteer groups who provide a service to Lismore Base Hospital?
There are a number of volunteer groups that provide service to the patients at Lismore Base Hospital. These groups have differing requirements for the prospective volunteer to consider prior to joining. A list of the groups and contact people are provided below:
