Position Description
Purpose of Role:
Provision of Physiotherapy services to all wards and outpatient department within Coffs Harbour Base Hospital as rostered by the Chief Physiotherapist ensuring that a high standard of treatment is provided and maintained.
Participation in Community Outreach programs is encouraged
Role Responsibilites:
- 1. Assessment and treatment of inpatients and outpatients of Coffs Harbour Base Hospital
- 2. Apply splints, plasters, braces as appropriate to inpatients and outpatients of Coffs Harbour Base Hospital.
- 3. Provide educational advice and instruction to other staff, community organisations, patients, families and other clients as necessary.
- 4. Liaise with other team members as appropriate.
- 5. Maintain high standard of Physiotherapy care.
- 6. Maintain accurate records and provide reports as necessary.
- 7. Attend case and other meetings as requested.
- 8. Attend Physiotherapy Departmental meetings as scheduled.
- 9. Maintain Departmental statistical records and submit monthly.
- 10. Report to Chief Physiotherapist the need to replenish stock items or repair/replace faulty equipment.
- 11. Participate in Quality Assurance Projects.
- 12. May be required to supervise students, commensurate with their years of experience.
Essential Criteria
- 1. Current registration/eligibility for registration with the NSW Physiotherapy Registration Board
- 2. Demonstrated ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing
- 3. Demonstrated ability to assess clinical and other problem situations and implement appropriate techniques and procedures, exercising professional judgement commensurate with their years of experience.
- 4. Sound interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member
- 5. Knowledge of the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct as outlined by the Australian Physiotherapy Association
- 6. Willingness to work a weekend and call-back roster.
- 7. Current drivers licence
