Position Description
Purpose of Role:
To provide a comprehensive Obstetric service for Kempsey Hospital . To participate in the medical milieu of the Hospital which may include relevant committees and other inter-department functions.
Role Responsibilites:
- To provide Procedural General Practice Obstetric services to patients attending Kempsey District Hospitals.
- Collaborate with the other GP Obstetricians in the provision of clinical leadership and professional supervision for all junior medical staff in the Obstetrics Department.
- In collaboration with the Obstetric GPs , monitor and implement policies and procedures to ensure high quality of care and safety.
- To provide effective liaison with other departments within Kempsey Hospital and external care providers as required.
- Promote professional development and actively maintain own continuous medical education in support of best practice.
- In collaboration with the other GPs assist the Director Medical Services in quality improvement programs and future planning.
- Participate in the after hours on-call roster.
- Participate in the medical milieu of the Hospital which may include relevant committees and other inter-department functions.
Essential Criteria
- Medical Practitioner eligible for registration in New South Wales. Must be registered by time of commencement.
- Have joint consultative committee for General practice Obstetrics accreditation
- Recent demonstrated experience in GP Obstetrics in a hopsital environment,
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, research and quality assurance.
- Ability to participate as part of a multi disciplinary team with excellent communication and participation in an on-call roster.
- Demonstrated knowledge of EEO policies as it applies to the Public Sector.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OH&S legislation as it applies to an employee.
