Position Description
Purpose of Role:
Provide a comprehensive Specialist Gastroenterology Service for the Lismore Base Hospital and also Hospitals under the auspices of the Richmond Network Surgical Services.
Role Responsibilites:
- Provide specialist Gastroenterology Services and Consultations to inpatients of Richmond Network Hospitals.
- Participate in an on-call roster.
- Participate in the establishment of appropriate professional standards in the specialty.
- Co-ordinate with colleagues the care of patients.
- Participate in the milieu of Richmond Network Hospitals including relevant committees and inter-departmental functions.
- Provide supervision and teaching for Registrars and Resident Medical Officers.
- Assist the Director Medical Services in service planning and quality improvement activities.
Essential Criteria
- Medical Practitioner eligible for registration in New South Wales. Must be registered by time of appointment.
- FRACP with sub specialty training in Gastroenterology or recognised equivalent qualification as provided for under the Health Insurance Act 1973.
- Successful completion of training and assessment by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE).
- Recent experience in the provision of Specialist Gastroenterology Services and Endoscopy Services including experience with an interest in the management of a gastroenterology specialist area that is complementary to the rest of the team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality.
- Ability to participate as part of a multi disciplinary team with excellent communication and participation in an on-call roster.
