What do we do?

We aim to improve the health of the people of the Kyogle District by working with individuals, families, other services and the wider community. Consult the online service directory listings for Kyogle if you would like more detailed inform,ation about any of these services

Our services include:

Aboriginal Health
Individual, family and group support.

Adult Psychologist
Providing assessment and counselling.

Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselling
Individual, family and group support and counselling.

Asthma Education
Technique and medication advice and support for people of all ages with asthma.

Audiometry
Hearing tests for people aged 4 years and over.

Child & Family Counselling
For children and families with serious personal, school or relationship difficulties.Working in groups or individually.

Community Nurses
Provide generalist nursing services in the home. Provide wound & basic foot care clinics on site.

CHEGS
Weight control and gentle exercise group.

Dietetics & Diabetics
Nutrition Assessment, counselling information and education for individuals and groups.

Early Childhood Nursing
Advice and support to families about growth & development of children 0-5 years.Home visits, before school screenings, and immunisation.Pre-natal classes, follow-up support.

Family Planning
Birth control, pregnancy testing, pregnancy counselling, pap smears, breast examinations, vasectomy counselling, menopause counselling, sex education, HIV counselling & testing, & sexually transmitted disease testing.Health

Promotion
Working with the community to develop programs aimed at improving the health of the population.

Immunisation Clinics
Immunisation against a range of childhood diseases and Adult Diphtheria and Tetanus.

Mental Health
Assessment, psychological counselling, support and rehabilitation for people experiencing or recovering from mental illness.Support and counselling for family and friends.

Occupational Therapy
Aiming for independence and safety in all personal activities for all age groups.

Physiotherapy
Assessment and treatment of people of all ages.

Social Work
Individual, family and group support & counselling aimed to enhance emotional and social well-being.

Speech Pathology
Assessment and treatment of communication and feeding disorders in adults and children.

Youth & Family Counselling
For adolescents with serious personal, school or relationship difficulties.Working in groups or individually.

Who can use these services?

Services are available to all people in the Northern Rivers Area. Referral for services is not necessary.
There is no charge for Community Health Services with the exception of the hiring of some equipment.
