Sexual Assault Service
The North Coast Area Health Service Sexual Assault Services provide the following care and support to victims of sexual assault
- Free counselling, information and support, crisis and follow-up to adults, young people and children who have been sexually assaulted and their significant others. Priority is given to children, young people and victims of recent sexual assault.
- Information and support regarding forensic and general medical examinations following recent sexual assault.
- 24 hour crisis support.
- Referral and information for ongoing sexual health and medical issues.
- Support, advocacy and information regarding the legal system, including making police statements.
- Confidentiality, except for child protection and some legal matters.
- Literature and education resources on sexual assault.
- Community education.
- Groups for survivors of sexual assault, including adults, young people and children
