Community Nursing Service
Community Nurses provide services to all clients in the community living in the northern rivers area and the mid north coast of NSW.
Within the Area Health Service a high priority is given to ensuring that people living in the community have access to services close to home. The development of two new Rural Hospital and Health Services (similar to the MPS models) at Nimbin and Kyogle will provide models of care, which ensure the integration of hospital acute services with community health services, improving access to services for residents in the area.
Community Nurses provide a comprehensive range of services including Palliative Care, Wound Care, Assessment, Case Management, Diabetes, Asthma, Cardiovascular Services, Child and Family, School Health, Women’s Health, Continence, Aboriginal Health, Immunisation Clinics, Audiometry Services and Health Promotion activities.
