Mid North Coast Lungs For Living Booklet

The Mid North Coast Area Health Service amalgamated with the Northern Rivers Area Health Service in 2005 to become the North Coast Area Health Service. Prior to that merger pulmonary rehabilitation programs were run in independently of each other, in both regions. On the mid north coast, staff developed a comprehensive booklet called "Lungs for Living" which was used in conjunction with their rehabilitation program.

The Lungs for Living Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program was developed to help people who have chronic lung conditions become as healthy as possible and to lead satisfying and fulfilling lives. This booklet contains information that has been given during the education sessions, as well as some additional information which may be of benefit. As the most common chronic lung disease is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), much of the information in this booklet will focus on this condition. If you have a different diagnosis, the information may still be relevant, however check with your health care provider.
